Delegates will be required to adhere to the following measures https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-campaign-to-prevent-spread-of-coronavirus-indoors-this-winter (Hands, Face Space) and adhere to the following measures.
Arrival at training
Anyone exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms must report these following your local protocals and must not attend the training. Symptoms described by Public Health as the onset of a new continuous cough or a high temperature or a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia).
Delegates are required to follow Public Health guidance and wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and water upon arrival at the training venue and prior to entering and leaving the training room during the day. Hand sanitiser should be used before and after practical activities and sanitising wipes to wipe their desk, chair etc.
Delegates are required to put their coats or surplus clothing on the back of their chairs or in their bags, which should be stored neatly under their desk/chair.
What to bring with you to the training event
Delegates are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings / face masks when moving around in the training room or in other areas of the venue. As much as possible delegates are asked to try to avoid touching their face coverings / face masks to limit cross-contamination. These face coverings / face masks must not be the same ones as have been worn to get to the training venue, additional face masks will be made available on the day. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own
Delegates to provide own pen and paper and not to share these or course materials with other delegates.
Please bring with you any refreshments required including a bottle of water as we will not be able to provide any at this time.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and infection prevention control measures
The training venue is a large space to ensure social distancing for this training.
A stock of PPE including hand sanitiser, face masks and gloves will be available throughout the training and used as required for practical exercises/assessment and as directed by the trainer. PPE will be used throughout the day and particularly when working in pairs (only when absolutely required and strictly following the Health & Safety Executive recommendations for delivering training during this period). The face masks that are provided by the council offer some level of protection to the wearer so these must be worn (instead of the delegate’s own face covering / face mask) when they are undertaking a training activity where physical distancing can’t be achieved.
Delegates are asked to follow the ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’ advice and please cough/sneeze into a tissue and dispose of immediately in the bin provided in the room. Failing that, cough/sneeze into bent elbow and use alcohol sanitiser immediately.
Chairs (arm rests etc) and desk/table space will be cleaned/wiped with sanitiser before course starts. Learners to only use one chair/table during course. Anti-bacterial wipes will also be available for delegates to use to wipe over the desk and chair they will be using if they wish to.
All equipment will be sanitised after use and as appropriate
Should you develop any COVID-19 symptoms following the training then you must report these through your local protocols and we can provide further information and support
Should any of the guidance be updated we will notify you prior to the course date of any changes
Please wear sensible clothing and footwear as this is a practical session.
Please be aware that if you are unable to participate in the practical sessions you will only receive a certificate of attendance, not a full certificate which assesses your competency, and you will have to attend a session at a later date when you are fit and well to have your competency assessed.
