Overview

This course will support front line workers in identifying strategies to reduce the likelihood of aggression and violence and to respond appropriately when presented with aggression, either face to face or over the phone. The emphasis of this course is to reduce aggression and the course does not cover physical techniques.

After completing this course you will be able to:



  • reflect upon the experience of aggression with reference to theoretical models

  • consider the physiological processes associated with aggression

  • identify proactive strategies and approaches for your service

  • identify actions that maintain your own wellbeing when working with aggression

  • identify safe, constructive responses when confronted with aggressive or violent behaviour
