This two day course is for



  • people who manage social care services for people with autism and

  • members of staff within social care services who lead autism support practice within their service.


This is an advanced course suitable for people who already have a solid core understanding of autism. Applicants are advised to complete the following autism spectrum courses prior to attending: Basic awareness; Autism Spectrum and Social Interaction, and Autism Spectrum and Sensory Awareness.

By the end of this course you will be able to



  • promote workplace consistency and stability for both staff and client

  • develop positive systems that enable you as a leader to effectively evaluate staff practices

  • develop ways to support your team to implement communication interventions adapted to meet individual needs

  • develop ideas to foster constructive person centred relationships with family, advocates and other professionals

  • describe aspects of your working environment that can be altered to meet the sensory needs  of individuals with autism
