Overview

This course is mandatory for those working with children from birth to five years.


It is also suitable for those working with children from birth to puberty, including foster carers, schools and CVS practitioners.


Early Years staff should attend the course listed in the CEYC training guide.

This two day course and certification is dependent upon successful continuous assessment of the delegate, who will complete an assessment paper during the course. Participants must attend both days to achieve the Certificate in Paediatric First Aid, a recognised qualification valid for three years.

  • carry out CPR on babies and children

  • recognise illness and take appropriate action

  • demonstrate confidence to act effectively in an emergency

  • respond to accidents and treat injuries effectively

  • identify when to contact the Emergency Services
