Overview
This course aims to help us contribute to making our work environment better by improving understanding of how our beliefs can shape our behaviours. Through a mix of presentations, small group activities, videos and scenarios you will explore equality, diversity and inclusion issues in the workplace.

The course also provides an overview of equalities legislation. All new staff should complete the introductory Equality and Diversity elearning as part of their induction.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course you will be able to:

- identify the benefits and outcomes from promoting diversity principles in the workplace
- describe the relevance of equalities legislation to your duties and responsibilities
- describe how beliefs based on past experiences can lead to prejudice or false assumptions
- identify the links between harassment, bullying and banter, and their impacts on others
- recognise unconscious bias, the impact of it, and how to reduce it
- respond to inappropriate behaviours in the workplace
