This course covers how to support people with their nutrition and hydration needs.
There is a multiple choice quiz at the end of the session. The purpose of the multiple choice quiz is for the learners to have an opportunity to assess their own learning from the session.
A workbook has been created, by the trainer, for you to use during this virtual session. Please can you ensure you have a printed copy in readiness for this session. If you are unable to do this, please ask someone to do this on your behalf or save a copy of each document on your computer or device, so you have it readily available to use during the training session.

Please note: -
If there is more than one delegate attending from the same organisation there is a requirement that all delegates on this course are joining the session with an individual device, be that from their own home on their own personal/work device or from their workplace on an individual device. The trainer has also advised that if staff are doing this in their workplace, working on individual devices in the same room doesn’t work as it picks up feedback and distorts communications so different rooms would be required for delegates from the same organisation.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
• use the eatwell model in menu planning and advising individuals
• work with food and nutrition requirements of a person’s care plan
• explain the use of the Malnutrition Screening Tool.
As good practice all support staff supporting people with nutrition and hydration needs should be appropriately trained. It will help staff who are working towards the Care Certificate.
