Overview
The aim of the programme is to introduce a coaching approach into your supervision practice in order to:
- Improve the quality of supervision
- Embed the role of the ‘manager as coach’ to develop skills and resilience in workers
- Achieve accountable decision-making through the supervision process
The elements of the programme include:
- Five half day practical and participative workshops
- Exercises, demonstrations, practice and discussion
- Direct observation of supervision practice, providing structured feedback and identifying areas for individual development

Ruth Dover is an experienced learning and development training consultant and former social worker, who previously delivered this coaching programme across Children’s Services in Brighton & Hove, including Fostering and Adoption Managers.
Her approach is to:
· Recognise and build on the existing skills, knowledge and experience that you bring to the role.
· Support you to identify your learning goals for the programme
· Use your own case scenarios to practice and apply learning
· Model the coaching style of leadership
In addition to the 5 workshop dates there will be an observation of supevision 1.5 hour slot on 5.7.22. Slots to be booked with Ruth.
