This three day training aims to both take stock of changes in health & adult social care (HASC) and look at professional leadership, cultural change and performance development under the HASC vision statement and the Department of Health Knowledge and Skills Statement for Social Workers in Adult Services.

Through meaningful and critical discussions and with the support of a selection of guest speakers, a 360 degree view of front line assessor’s roles and responsibilities will be presented and explored in depth.

Attendance to the course by front line staff will mean the local authority complies to the Care Act guidance regarding training ‘must dos’: Staff undertaking assessments must have assessment training

Code: BH/18/0777 Emergency First Aid - Adult Social Care (EVENT FULL)

The course, for Adult Social Care Staff, enables first aiders to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill. It includes both theory and practical sessions and is designed to boost confidence. There is no final exam however delegates are assessed throughout the course and certificates, valid for three years, are issued to those who have reached the required standard.

Each delegate will be provided with a first aid manual.

This Certificate in Food Safety is only for kitchen staff and those with a main role working in a kitchen and handling food in adults and children's services. Adult social care staff who may handle food as part of their role should apply for Food Safety, Nutrition & Hydration.

This programme will ensure that food handlers meet the training requirements of the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 2013 and are fully conversant with the practical procedures and methods of applying food hygiene in the workplace.

The PMF sets out how the council manages performance to deliver the best possible services for the city. This drop-in session is an additional opportunity to receive support to complete your Training, Support & Development Standards Workbook. Whether you have been recently approved or have years of fostering experience, the completion of the Workbook demonstrates your fostering knowledge and skills.

Come along to this informal session to receive guidance and support to ensure you complete this essential piece of work.

This session is for you if:

•  you haven't started your Workbook

•  you need your Workbook signed off

•  you have specific questions about how to complete certain sections

•  you are finding it difficult to complete the Workbook with all your fostering and family commitments.

Implementation of these Standards will be monitored by OFSTED during their inspections of Fostering Services.

All foster carers are expected to successfully complete the workbook within 12 months. One workbook per household.

When foster carers have successfully completed the Standards they will receive a Certificate of Completion.
