This practical training is highly recommended for those people who, as part of their role, need to carry out short duration work at height using basic access equipment such as stepladders.

This training is not suitable for those who routinely access significant heights over 3 metres, or for those who use more specialised equipment.

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to make suitable and sufficient assessments of all manual handling operations and to take appropriate steps to reduce the risk of injury to the lowest level reasonably practicable. This course will provide assessors with the necessary information and skills to undertake assessments of manual handling needs.

 

Participants will receive an attendance certificate to show that they have received training under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.

This half day workshop will explore how morbid obesity can affect people's lives and the role of professionals in intervening safely. Attendees will consider how to support plus sized people with empathy and to gain an understanding of what may have driven them. 

This course is for Independent Living Service (ILS), Housing Adaptations Occupational Therapy (HAOT) and Children’s Occupational Therapy Staff only and is delivered by Cally Hedger, Backcare Advisor at Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
