Code: BH/17/782 Coaching for Performance - AM - by invitation only

By invitation only

Leadership and management of teams helps to develop and improve performance. Coaching gives a method to start these performance conversations and allows managers to focus on developing good employee engagement and active listening skills. By investing in coaching, managers can start to build good relationships with their teams.  This helps understanding of goals and clarity on what needs to be achieved and  allows individuals to develop their skills.  Coaching can unlock employee potential which in turn contributes to the performance of team and service plans.Time invested in coaching will realise time and resource to the manager as individuals grow and deliver at higher levels and can contribute in other ways such as one-off tasks, project work, testing out existing processes and advocating change.

The workshop gives the opportunity to practice with peers at using coaching skills during informal and formal conversations. This session links to the performance development plan cycle and supports managers to have a series of regular meaningful conversations with staff as part of their development plans.

The session looks at some different coaching models, how they work and how this improves employee relationships, encourages staff to think about and verbalise the goals they need to achieve and to help staff to meet their objectives.
