Code: BH/20/1196 Meeting the Needs of BAME Children (EVENT FULL)

The session will cover issues of race, identity, marginalization and discrimination. We will consider associated terminology, discuss strategies to challenge racism and explore the implications of potentially damaging attitudes, language and behaviours.

We will watch a film which offers a young person's perspective and use this to consider how we can support BAME young people in developing a positive sense of identity. Case studies (which you will have a chance to look at before the session) will be used to bring together our deliberations. They will help in focussing our strategies of how we can work collectively towards better meeting the needs of BAME children.
