Ensuring that children and young people in Brighton & Hove are protected effectively from sexual harm and violence sexual exploitation is a priority for Brighton & Hove LSCB.

The prevalence of CSE is difficult to ascertain with any accuracy due to:

  • Low levels of reporting by young people
  • Variable levels of awareness & confusion around definition
  • Inadequate intelligence gathering & information sharing
  • Inconsistent recording

We must identify the extent of sexual harm and violence towards children and to tackle it across all agencies to protect children. The course is part of initiatives to ensure children and young people receive timely, assured and measurable interventions to effectively safeguard them from sexual exploitation

This training is provided by the Local Children's Safeguarding Board (LSCB)
