The aim of this practical programme is to introduce a coaching approach into the supervision practice of social work supervisors in order to:

Improve the quality of supervision for social workers.

Embed the role of the 'supervisor as coach’ to develop reflection and  resilience in social workers and enable them to better cope with the emotional demands of the role.

Achieve accountable decision-making through supervision.

Improve social worker practice leading to improved outcomes for the people you provide a service to.

This course is for all those working in or providing support and care. 

This course aims to assist participants' understanding of the ways that the principles of dignity, choice, control and empowerment can run through the provision of all aspects of care and procedures.

It also looks at how to keep the individual service user at the centre of care planning, and guard against institutional practices.

This course will assist service providers to stay at the forefront of providing services in line with the current commissioning dignity priority.
