This Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement online course will equip you with all the information you need to promote health improvement schemes and initiatives. You will learn how to encourage others to look after their health, understand what a healthy lifestyle looks like and appreciate why people make the choices they make about their health. By the end of the course, you will also know how to inspire individuals looking to learn about health improvement and motivate others to make healthy lifestyle choices. This course is delivered with a focus of promoting health in the workplace.
The Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement Online Course is targeted at those involved in setting up health promotion / public health initiatives in the workplace and / or becoming ‘Workplace health champions.’ This course will equip ‘Workplace Health Champions’ with the tools and resources they need to help make themselves and their colleagues healthier.
Number of sessions: 3 plus bespoke action planning session with the Healthy Workplace Lead.

This course looks at the main principles of adult safeguarding in line with the Care Act and the Making Safeguarding Personal approach. It explores practice issues regarding abuse or neglect to adults, including the responsibilities of staff in preventing and reporting. This course is aimed at customer facing staff who support adults.

The course will cover the context of legislation, EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements, and the Local Safeguarding Children Board procedures:
- key elements of a child protection policy
- highlight changes with regard to the Front Door for Families
- writing policy and procedures to help staff deal with the scenarios that they might face
- consulting with stakeholders
- communicating with parents and children
- ensuring that workers are familiar with, and parents are aware of, the policy
- training needs in relation to the policy
Updated safeguarding requirement September 2016 - "During term time, or when the setting is in operation, the designated safeguarding lead or an appropriately trained deputy should be available during opening hours for staff to discuss safeguarding concerns."
