This course looks at beliefs, biases and prejudices and how they shape our behaviours. Through a mix of presentations, small group activities, audio recordings and scenarios you will explore equality and diversity issues in the workplace.

The course also provides an overview of equalities legislation. All new staff should complete the introductory Equality and Diversity elearning as part of their induction.

This course covers the essential elements of food safety to enable you to safely prepare and handle food and to support people with their nutrition and hydration needs.

Course attendees will be given a certificate of attendance. There is a multiple choice assessment at the end of the course which will be marked and given to participants to discuss with their manager upon return to work. The Workforce Development Team will contact the managers of participants who do not pass the assessment.

County lines, or ‘going country’ refers to when groups or gangs exploit young people or vulnerable adults to carry and sell drugs across county boundaries. The nature of gangs is evolving over time, but typically means a group based on factors such as drug distribution, a criminal ‘business’, violence or territory.
