This 3-hour interactive course is for private and independent care homes/domiciliary carers.  The course will look at the critical aspects for medicines management using a practical approach. It is important that participants have attended the Safer Working at Height training before attending this course.

This bespoke Train the Trainer course is for staff in schools who are new to the role of training and facilitating groups and will be delivering Safer Working at Height training sessions to other staff who will be using basic access equipment within their workplace.

This is a highly interactive course introducing you to the key skills, processes and practices required to train and facilitate groups. Participants will be expected to prepare and deliver a bite sized training session as part of the course.

This course is not suitable for staff seeking presentation skills training.

 





 


 



 

We will be looking at a number of teaching/  training techniques and then planning to deliver a short session or microteach using them.  The afternoon session will comprise the delivery of a microteach to the whole group.

The positive behaviour support course aims to equip staff, parents and carers with the skills and knowledge to support adults with learning disabilities whose behaviour can challenge. This course is for Learning Disability Services who provide support to individuals who display high risk challenging behaviours.

This is an accredited course and your attendance is required on 3 days during a 4 week period.  Days 1,2 & 3 must be completed in order. 

The assessment and intervention workbook involves work between each day and must be completed appropriate to the needs of the individual that has been focused on for a certificate to be awarded. This course contains a multiple choice theory test on day 3 and presentations to the rest of the group.

If for any reason a delegate misses a day then they should attend the next available course to complete the day(s) missed within a 6 month period.

Please note: Priority places will be allocated to services who are signed up to the PBS Sussex model or services who support individuals who display the most complex, high risk challenging behaviours.

Places on this course are not allocated automatically.  To be considered for this course you need to add your reasons in the special requirements box as to why you need to attend this training course.  This information will be used in determining whether you get a place or not.
