Overview
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served, and their families, are treated fairly. Brighton & Hove City Council is a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant and has a commitment to provide training for staff on how to work effectively with people who are current or former armed forces service people.

This short session will provide you with the skills and knowledge to better understand military life and the needs of people who may have left the Armed Forces, how to engage with them and how your service might work with others in the best interest of serving personnel and veterans, family and carers.

The session is delivered by Forces Connect South East.

Learning outcomes

The session will:

•Promote the Armed Forces Covenant
•Instil Staff Commitment
•Embed the Covenant within ways of working
•Ensure all Council Help Desks/ Contact Centres know about the Armed Forces Covenant
•Ensure Local Authority Staff are aware of the issues facing Armed Forces Personnel, their families and  Veterans
•Ensure all Staff ask “have you served?”
