Confident practice with cultural diversity - Research in Practice tailored support event

As part of our Research in Practice membership, we are entitled to a tailored support day. This year we have chosen to focus on Cultural Diversiy to enable us to reflect on our work with people from different cultural and social/class backgrounds and provide an opportunity to consider how to challenge inappropriate practice. 
Although RiP is predominantly for social work staff, this course is avaialable to staff across Families, Children and Learning.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the worskhop participants will have:

Reflected on the wider social context for practitioners’ work with people from different cultural and social/class backgrounds
Explored the processes of stereotyping communities and different cultures, and the impact on confident practice
Developed strategies for challenging inappropriate practice and behaviours that may be considered ‘cultural’
Explored the way that culture changes and how this impacts on practitioners
Identified and planned how you can support practitioners to develop confident practice in a culturally diverse society
