Overview
In this course you will get an insight into the lives of trans and gender questioning young people, as well as gaining information on trans identities more generally.
The course aims to increase people's confidence in supporting young trans people to develop a strong sense of identity in the face of multiple marginalisation. You will learn practical ways to make our services more safe and inclusive by exploring creative ways to challenge transphobia.

Learning outcomes
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- describe a diverse range of trans identities
- review and act on your duties under the Equality Act 2010 with particular reference to trans children, young people and trans parents and carers
- recognise the needs and experiences of trans children, young people and trans parents and carers and be able to provide support to this group
- identify and challenge transphobia
- examine activities that will support your service to improve its approach to trans equality including how to monitor
