  • examine skills for establishing and maintaining rapport, even during difficult conversations

  • describe some key techniques for sharing their worries with parents, carers and children themselves

  • identify some of the blocks to being able to communicate worries and how to work with and around them

  • recognise the impact on themselves personally and professionally of such conversations
