This introductory course will aim to develop an understanding of how anxiety might present in children and young people and explore ideas to support their emotional wellbeing. Consideration will be given to the impact of the recent pandemic on children and young people’s emotional mental health.

  • recognise presentations of anxiety in children and young people 

  • review the theory and research related to anxiety 

  • describe the psychological impact of the pandemic on children and young people
