This course looks at the main principles of adult safeguarding in line with the Care Act and the Making Safeguarding Personal approach. It explores practice issues regarding abuse or neglect to adults, including the responsibilities of staff in preventing and reporting. This course is aimed at customer facing staff who support adults.

There is a Safeguarding Adults Basic Awareness e-learning course available through the Brighton & Hove Learning Gateway that can be completed instead of the face to face training.

There is a safeguarding adults capability framework for Brighton & Hove which describes the roles and expectations of provider staff.The Safeguarding Adults Board asks all staff who work with adults who may be in need of safeguarding to consider the framework, and take it forward in their area of service.
