Overview
This is a four-day course for Social Workers and Police Officers who take part in Joint Investigations.
It promotes understanding of multi agency working and the roles and responsibilities of agencies involved in Section 47 investigations.

Learning outcomes
•To understand the different roles of the police and social worker in the Section 47 process and principles of co-operation between agencies
•Demonstrate communication skills with families during investigations, including joint home visits with the police
•Know about the process of the health assessment in the S47 and the role of the paediatrician
•Understand principles of taking initial accounts without hindering the ABE interview
