Overview

Important: This course is mandatory for all those responsible and accountable for management of Legionella.

This course has been organised by the Premises Team and provides an essential introduction to issues relating to Legionella and Legionnaires Disease. The course will cover:


• overview of terminology
• background to Legionella
• legislation, including general requirements and monitoring requirements
• roles and responsibilities and how to comply with current legislation

Learning outcomes
by the end of the course you will:

   • be aware of relevant legislation around legionella and know your responsibilities within the law.
   • be aware of record keeping requirements
   • be aware of legionella monitoring methods
   • know how to lower the risk of contracting Legionnaires Disease
   • know how to reduce the risk of Legionella proliferation within water system
