The 60 credit Dissertation offers students the opportunity to carry out an in-depth inquiry into an area of their advanced social work practice (relating to advanced practice, education, management) which is of particular interest to them; to develop an understanding of, and skills in, research planning in relation to advanced professional practice and to develop further self-directed skills in advanced scholarship.

To apply for the Dissertation you must have completed the PGDip (120 credits). Completion of the Dissertation + the PGDip will result in the Advanced Masters in Social Work (MSc).

To complete your registration onto this module you will need to complete and return the University application form attached to the confirmation email. The application form needs to be returned to learning@brighton-hove.gov.uk by the 30th July 2021.

A learner contract applies to this module so please complete and return the learner contract attached to the confirmation email within one week of receiving this. The contract states that you may be asked to repay course fees if you do not complete the module or if you cease employment with the Council within one year of completing the module. You must sign the contract in order to be allocated a place on the module.

Both documents need to be returned to learning@brighton-hove.gov.uk by 30th July 2021
