You must have previously completed ‘Practice Education Stage 1 (or its equivalent).
This 15 credit module is for qualifed social workers, experienced practice educators and assessors who are involved in the teaching, supervising and assessing of trainee social workers.and primarily those who wish to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to take full responsibility for the teaching and assessing of a student social worker up to and including the student's final social work placement.
In order to apply for this module you must have discussed and agreed with your manager to take responsibility for a Social Work Student on placement.
Practice Education Stage 2 will assume prior knowledge of, and build expertise in, the critical analysis and application of, the following issues:
As part of this module you will be observed undertaking different tasks of the practice educator role on at least two separate occasions, including the presentation of video-recorded material to the module student group.

Module dates are draft at the moment to be confirmed ASAP. The majority of teaching on this module will be in the Spring 2022 term but candidates will attend the induction in October and another check-in in December to assist with the Practice Education of their student.

Practice Educators – 5 x days to be taken within the placement (October to June)
Candidates must be registered social workers with a minimum of three years' post-qualifying experience. They must be involved in the teaching and assessing of a student social worker or other staff engaged in social care and/or social work whilst undertaking the course.
Candidates must have previously obtained Practice Education Stage 1 or equivalent (such as Enabling Work Based Learning and Assessment) and had responsibility for supervising at least one student social worker previously.
