What is IOSH Managing Safely and who is this course for?
This course is accredited by IOSH (The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) and will provide delegates with an opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised, health and safety qualification.
This training is recommended for managers, supervisors and team leaders who wish to gain confidence and a deeper understanding of their health and safety responsibilities and successful health and safety management. This course will help delegates to lead by good example, to effectively manage the health, safety and wellbeing of their team and embed a positive and safe culture in the workplace.
What does this course cover?
This course covers responsibilites, identifying hazards, assessment and control of risks, incident and accident investigation and measuring performance.
How will the course be delivered and assessed?
This training course will be delivered over 4 days in a COVID secure venue. Session times are 09.30 -16.30 on days 1, 2 & 3 and 09.30 - 12.30 on day 4. Delegates must be able to attend all sessions and undertake a 45 minute knowledge based test consisting of multi-format questions on the final day. Delegates will also be required to complete a skill-based, practical risk assessment carried out in their workplace.
VERY IMPORTANT: It is essential that the attached COVID-19 Risk Assessment Guidance for Training Participants is read and understood by delegates and their managers before attending this training. Delegates can request a copy of the risk assessments covering this course if required.
Please note: Whilst the course is delivered in a covid secure way, please consider with your manager whether it is essential for you to attend, as the delegates will be a mix of staff from different workplaces.
Priority for places is given to BHCC staff and Schools staff but a limited number of places are available to external people.
