This CPD session with Edge is for AMHPs and will be held online. The session will:

 ·         Outline the criteria for use of Community Treatment Orders

·         Outline factors to consider when approving a CTO application, or renewal

·         Provide a summary of case law relevant to the use of CTOs

·         Provide a critical analysis of research in to the use of CTOs

·         Provide a summary of case law relevant to the use of Guardianship

·         Provide a critical analysis of research in to the use of Guardianship

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course AMHPs will:

·         Improve their understanding of Community Treatment Order criteria and processes, the role of the AMHP, including relevant research and policy.

·         Gain an understanding of case law relevant to the use of CTOs

·         Improve their understanding of s7 and s37 Guardianship criteria and processes, the role of the AMHP, including relevant research and policy.

·         Gain an understanding of when it may be appropriate to MCA and CTO or Guardianship.

You must be an AMHP employed by Brighton and Hove City Council to apply through BHCC Learning Gateway. If you are an AMHP employed elsewhere please contact your training department. This course will be shared with ESCC and WSCC AMHPs.
