This course is aimed at staff involved in the manual handling of adults, including the use of hoists and other support equipment, who have completed the Safer People Handling practical training session within the last 12 months.
Important Eligibility Applies - if you last completed the Safer People Handling practical session training outside of the last 12 month period (30 days beyond this, absolute maximum is acceptable) or if you have not completed training in this area before please do not book onto this refresher course, you must complete the safer people handling basic awareness course.
It is a National/local directive that staff refresh and update their knowledge and skills regularly. This half-day course will update staff on the possible injuries to themselves and enable them to carry out transfer operations safely.
The latest Government Guidance is being followed to ensure that face to face training is delivered in the safest possible way to reduce the risk of catching and spreading COVID-19 . The attached COVID-19 Risk Assessment Guidance for Training Participants sets out the arrangements and what you are required to do when attending the training course. Please ensure these are read and understood before applying and attending the course.

This course is open to all adult social care staff across the council and the Independent Voluntary Sector.

Please note: - Access to Montague House for delegates is the wooden gate on Somerset Street. This will be open on the day, and behind the wooden gate delegates will find the back door into the manual handling training room.
If you are unable to participate in the practical training session please do not book on this training session as you must be fit and well to participate.
