Overview

The positive behaviour support course aims to equip staff, parents and carers with the skills and knowledge to support adults with learning disabilities whose behaviour can challenge. This course is for Learning Disability Services who provide support to individuals who display high risk challenging behaviours.

This is an accredited course and your attendance is required on 3 days during a 4 week period.  Days 1,2 & 3 must be completed in order. The day timings are 09.30am - 4.30pm.

The assessment and intervention workbook involves work between each day and must be completed appropriate to the needs of the individual that has been focused on for a certificate to be awarded. This course contains a multiple choice theory test on day 3 and presentations to the rest of the group.

If for any reason a delegate misses a day then they should attend the next available course to complete the day(s) missed within a 6 month period.

Please note: Priority places will be allocated to services who are signed up to the PBS Sussex model or services who support individuals who display the most complex, high risk challenging behaviours.
