This course is suitable for Children’s Services and CVS practitioners and carers whose role involves lifting and handling of children.
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 came into force in January 1993. This legislation places a duty on employers to implement measures to reduce the risks to the staff who are required to undertake safer handling tasks. This course is designed to refresh staff awareness of the possible injuries to themselves and to enable them to carry out transfer operations safely.
To be undertaken within 12 months of completing the Safer Handling of Children Basic Awareness course.

Delegates will need to enter Montague House by using the wooden gate on Somerset Street. This will be open on the day. Behind the wooden gate you will find the back door into the manual handling training room.
Participants should wear appropriate clothing and flat, comfortable footwear that covers the whole of the foot as you will be actively participating in safer people handling techniques. Open toed shoes and sandals are not acceptable and you may be turned away due to health and safety reasons which will then incur a charge.
