Code: BH/19/0754 Advanced Behaviour Change (2 Day Course)

This is a two-day practice focused self-reflective course providing the learner with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills and confidence to engage in brief interventions to facilitate behaviour change with people whatever their readiness to change.

In between the sessions, participants will be asked to record a short 'behaviour change' intervention to then share on day 2, with the intention of gaining constructive feedback to affirm and enhance practice. Participants will develop skills in motivational interviewing, specifically differentiating between change talk and commitment language, and learning how to elicit and shape the two to strengthen the outcome of the interventions.

By the end of the course participants will have an enhanced toolkit of strateges they can apply when working with inidviduals to facilitate behaviour change over a short or longer term basis, including working with more complex cases and dealing with resistance.

PLEASE NOTE: This course is designed for practioners who understand and have practiced the fundamental elements of facilitating behaviour change, but now seek more advanced training in it.

We would encourage participants who have at least 2 years experience of working one-to-one with individuals in a change facilitation setting to attend.

On requesting a place you will be sent a Behaviour Change questionnaire which you should fill in and return to the trainer before the course start date.
