Code: BH/17/940 ASYE Adults CPD Module - Social Work with Adults

To log your interest for this CPD module please click on “request a place"

This module offers students the opportunity to develop further knowledge about issues in adult services and to focus and reflect critically upon the complex roles undertaken by social workers in adult services, including mental health services.  The module is designed specifically to support the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).

Students are supported to consider what it is to provide effective, outcome-based and person-centred assessment and support planning within their own areas of practice.  They identify the professional, ethical, organisational, legal and policy dimensions of intervention and consider how their practice might best contribute to the promotion of key outcomes such as personalised support, wellbeing, recovery and social justice. They begin to explore the meaning of professional leadership for themselves as qualified practitioners.

Code: BH/18/0173 Centre for Social Work Practice Innovations Seminar

Overview of seminar:

Successful teams are those which make the space to think through their clients’ issues and the impact these have on the worker – like yours!   However, stuff often gets in the way of keeping that necessary space. Judy Foster wanted to find out what that inhibiting ‘stuff’ was. So, based on evidence from a year’s observation, reflection and interviews of three different social work teams, she will share the five particular areas that affected reflective space. With lively examples from the study and her own career, seminar members can consider their own unique situations and discuss strategies they might adopt.
