Code: BH/21/1948 PQS programme for social work supervisors (by invitation only)

The Post Qualifying Standards for supervisors of social workers in adults services are the initiative of the Chief Social Worker, Lynn Romeo and were developed by DoHSC.

Brighton & Hove City, Portsmouth City and West Sussex County Councils have come together to commission this innovative and collaborative joint pilot programme lead by supervision specialist Dr Lisa Bostock at the University of Bedfordshire.

The programme will create a space for supervisors to further develop and enhance reflective supervision skills whilst learning alongside supervisors from other organisations.

Supervisors invited to join this 12 month programme will be provided with regular formal development sessions and reflective practice groups and also receive one-to-one mentoring to develop and evidence supervision practice that meets the PQS.

At the end of the programme supervisors will submit a portfolio of evidence to their line manager for review and assessment against the PQS before being passed to the BHCC PQS Moderation Panel for ratification.
