This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid to people in a range of first aid situations.

If this will affect your ability to attend this course, please email the Learning and Development Team by email to - email@example.com so alternative arrangements can be made for you to attend first aid training.
There are four practical assessments that delegates will have to complete throughout the course, and these will be observed by the trainer. During the course the trainer will also carry out on-going assessment to assess the delegates’ knowledge, skills and understanding related to the assessment criteria. As there is an element of physical activity on this course suitable footwear and clothing should be worn.
There is also a theory assessment/multiple choice paper at the end of the course to assess competence and gain certification.
The delegate will need to demonstrate, without assistance from a third party, practical tasks such as CPR with the casualty on the floor to simulate a real-life situation. If the delegate is unable to carry out this practical assessment, for example, because they cannot kneel, then they will not pass the course and will not gain the qualification.
