This Certificate in Food Safety is only for kitchen staff and those with a main role working in a kitchen and handling food in adults and children's services. Adult social care staff who may handle food as part of their role should apply for Food Safety, Nutrition & Hydration.

This programme will ensure that food handlers meet the training requirements of the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 2013 and are fully conversant with the practical procedures and methods of applying food hygiene in the workplace.

Important: Candidates will be required to provide photo ID (eg. Passport / Driving Licence / Work ID) and their date of birth as proof of identity.

This event will provide an awareness of the working procedures and protocols that should be followed in instances of unexpected child death. It will provide an overview of the roles of the various agencies involved. The day will also allow multiagency partners to discuss with colleagues their own understanding and conceptions of what needs to take place in the instance of an unexpected child death.

This course is suitable for staff and carers working with people with learning disabilities who want to develop skills in using makaton. This is the professional route.
 
Schools staff should contact the Brighton and Hove Inclusion Support Service – Language Team, The Music & Arts Building, County Oak Avenue, in the first instance on 01273 293672.
 
Makaton is a language programme involving speech, manual signs and graphic symbols developed to help people with communication difficulties, especially people with learning disabilities.

By the end of this 2 day workshop participants will have improved and developed their skills using makaton signs and symbols from stages 1-4 and additional stage.
