Coronavirus has changed the way almost all of us work now. It has also affected all aspects of our lives. Whether you are working from home, needing to continue your usual work in the community with social distancing safety measures, or unable to work right now, there is a need to be aware of your personal resilience.
This highly interactive session will give you the opportunity to reflect on your current resilience levels, learn some tips on looking after yourself during the COVID19 crisis, and discuss with others aspects of resilience that are particularly important in these difficult times.
Being resilient can help you bounce back in tough times, cope with additional pressures and stay healthy in times of change. Learning habits that build your resilience, ready for more turbulent times, will prevent you becoming over-whelmed by circumstances and keep you healthier in body and mind.
This short session will introduce you to a resilience model against which you will self-assess against your current state of resilience, show you how a stronger base of resilience will help you cope with changes at work and home.

The session will outline what Community Infrastructure Levy is, how it works and how it helps to deliver citywide and local infrastructure. Training will include CIL governance and how it links to policy, development and infrastructure planning.
Finally, how the new S106 protocol for councillors works.

This training will be delivered via Zoom between 9.30am-12.30pm and then participants will need to go to the venue, to undertake an examination, face to face, starting at 3.00pm.
This Certificate in Food Safety is only for kitchen staff and those with a main role working in a kitchen and handling food in adults and children's services. Adult social care staff who may handle food as part of their role should apply for Food Safety, Nutrition & Hydration.
This programme will ensure that food handlers meet the training requirements of the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 2013 and are fully conversant with the practical procedures and methods of applying food hygiene in the workplace.

Working with risk and supporting service users to live their chosen lifestyles can feel difficult. Getting the balance right in respecting individual rights whilst also fulfilling our duty of care is important.
This course will look at the principles of person centred risk and care and will help people support and promote good risk assessment and care planning. The course will also look at how to work with restrictive practices procedures to ensure that people are not unnecessarily restricted in our desire to manage risks.

How do we continue the conversation about research in Brighton and Hove: Learning from Covid-19 in Adult Social Care?
- How has adult social care practice adapted during Covid-19?
- What has the pandemic highlighted about the value and recognition of Adult Social Care?
- How might practice change going forward?
These are some of the questions we asked in a small pilot study about HASC staff experiences of the pandemic.
We all have knowledge and experience that is relevant and important to having conversations about research. By coming together we create the possibility of building new knowledge.
You are invited to join us to hear about the findings from this University led study: Learning from Covid-19 in Adult Social Care and for a conversation about developing this research together.
There will be short presnetation by Lizzie Ward, reseracher from University of Brighton followed by small group discussions, reflections and plenary.

Code: BH/21/0825 RSPH (Level 2) Supporting Behaviour Change (Health & Wellbeing)
This popular, accredited course provides participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to offer opportunistic brief advice to, or engage in, brief interventions with individuals which could improve their health and wellbeing. It is a Level 2 accredited Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Award.
Participants will develop skills in reflective listening and be introduced to the principles which underpin motivational interviewing, whilst also considering what helps and hinders the change process, including developing awareness about resistance and reluctance.
By the end of the course participants will have developed a toolkit of strategies they can apply when working with individuals to facilitate behaviour change.
The course is currently being offered remotely, with the training delivered via four Zoom sessions and supported by completion of set self-directed reading and tasks. Please note this course was previously delivered over two full days.
Participants will be required to:
· Attend 3 x 3-hour online training sessions, via Zoom
· Complete self-directed tasks set by the trainers, prior to and between Zoom sessions (up to 4 hours)
· Attend a 3-hour revision and exam online session, via Zoom (for those wanting RSPH accreditation)
