Code: BH/20/0480 Practical Foundation Course in Medicines Administration (Children's Services)

This interactive workshop is for those working in children’s services, including early years and childcare, schools, CVS practitioners, volunteers, carers and support staff. This course is particularly relevant for children's disability residential staff, Barnardos Link Plus carers and nursery practitioners.

It is a practical course, teaching how to administer medicines (in original packs) in a systematic way to reduce the chance of errors. It covers the care certificate, CQC and OFSTED requirements for medication training.

This is an all day course which has an in-depth module on record keeping and includes a competence test (simulated medicines rounds) with a follow-on assessment if learners fail this.

Delegates receive a comprehensive workbook with a theory test that can be completed with their manager. Model answers are available on the 'Assessing Staff Competence to Administer Medicines' workshop.
